It’s the first question almost everyone asks us, and the honest answer is: it depends. A website can cost anything from a few euros a month with a site builder to over €15,000 with a big agency. This guide explains what’s behind each price, so you know what you’re comparing when you ask for quotes in Spain.
In short: in Spain, a professional website for a small business usually costs between €1,500 and €5,000 when it’s custom designed, plus around €100–400 a year for the domain and hosting. A template set up by a freelancer costs around €400–1,200, and an online shop starts at about €2,500.
The prices in this guide are typical ranges for the Spanish market in 2026, excluding VAT (21%). Every project is different.
Website prices in Spain in 2026
| Type of website | Typical price | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Site builder (Wix, Squarespace…), DIY | €15–40 a month | Testing an idea or a personal project |
| Landing page (a single page) | €400–1,500 | One specific service or a campaign |
| WordPress template (freelancer) | €400–1,200 | Very tight budgets |
| Custom business website (5–10 pages) | €1,500–5,000 | Small businesses and professionals who want to stand out |
| Extra language versions | +20–40% | Businesses with international clients |
| Online shop | €2,500–10,000 | Selling products online |
| Project with a large agency | €6,000–20,000 or more | Companies with complex needs |
What makes a website cost more or less
1. Custom design or template
A template is a ready-made design filled in with your text and photos. It’s quick and cheap, but your website will look like thousands of others and usually carries extra code and plugins that slow it down. Custom design costs more because it’s created from scratch for your brand, your industry and your clients.
2. Number of pages and content
A one-page website isn’t the same as ten service pages, a blog and a catalogue. Someone also has to write the text and source good photos: if the studio does it, you’ll see it in the price, and in the result.
3. Languages
On the Costa del Sol, many websites need English and often a third language. Doing it properly, with each language on its own address and with its own data for Google, takes work. A machine translator pasted on top is cheap, but it doesn’t rank and it looks unprofessional.
4. Features
Bookings, online quotes, catalogues, payments, private areas or connections to your business software. Each feature adds to the cost, from a few hundred euros to several thousand.
5. SEO and speed
A website that doesn’t show up on Google is like a shop with no window. The technical basics (speed, structure, titles, structured data and language versions) should be included. Ongoing SEO, with content and links, is a separate service.
The costs nobody always mentions
- Domain: €10–20 a year for a .com or .es.
- Hosting: €60–300 a year for a business website. Hosting that’s too cheap usually costs you in speed.
- Maintenance: €30–150 a month if you want someone to keep the site updated, back it up and watch its security.
- Paid templates and plugins: many WordPress sites rely on annual licences of €50–300 that nobody mentions in the quote.
- Site builder fees: Wix or Squarespace look cheap, but you pay every month for as long as you have the site, and you can’t move it to another provider.
- Changes: if every text or price change has to be requested (and paid for), the real cost grows every year.
Comparison: which option suits you?
These are the four usual ways to get a website in Spain. No option is best for everyone, but there is a best option for each case.

Why we think a custom studio is the best choice for most businesses
We’re an interested party, of course: it’s exactly what we do at Orvalivo. But for a small business on the Costa del Sol it’s by far the best-balanced option:
- Agency quality without the agency price: unique design, hand-written code and speed, without paying for a sales structure.
- Direct contact: you always talk to the person who designs and builds your website, with no middlemen.
- Independence: the website, the domain and the logins are yours, and you can edit everything from a simple dashboard.
- Built to sell: mobile first, contact via WhatsApp or a form, and ready for Google from day one.
How to compare quotes without getting it wrong
Before you choose, ask every provider these seven questions:
- Is the design custom or a template?
- What exactly is included: pages, text, photos and languages?
- Will I be able to edit the website myself? Will you show me how?
- Will the domain and the website be in my name?
- What are the costs after the first year (hosting, licences, maintenance)?
- Does it include the SEO basics: speed, titles and data for Google?
- Do I get a fixed price and a timeline in writing?
How much would your website cost?
At Orvalivo we don’t work with one-size-fits-all rates. After a first conversation we send you a fixed quote, with no small print, and show you the real design of your website before we build it. Tell us about your project.
